WHAT WE DO
CSA is a USA swim team registered with Southeastern Swimming, our local swim committee (LSC). We participate in USA short course meets from September through April, typically in Birmingham, Auburn, Madison, Huntsville, Tuscaloosa, Scottsboro, Brentwood, and Chattanooga. Fees include a $10 CSA registration fee (per family), USA Swimming registration ($57 per swimmer), and monthly fees from $30-$45 per swimmer depending on group placement. CWAC non members also pay a $30/month surcharge through the team. Due to limited space and practice time, CSA members must have competitive swimming experience. First timers interested in competitive swimming should contact the CWAC Aquatics Director at 775-7946.
MISSION
The mission of Cullman Swim Association is to provide the youth of our community with a USA Swim Club promoting the sport of swimming throughout the year. All team members are given the opportunity to pursue goals in the sport of swimming at their own personal level of ability and desire with the guidance and support from coaches, parents, and volunteers involved with this club. CSA strives to empower team members to be champions in and out of the water for a lifetime.
HISTORY
After years of "spring training" and "winter swimming" for our Cullman Swim Team of the ARPA Park and Rec summer swim league, several families decided there was plenty of interest and need for building a USA swim team in Cullman. The team's first Short Course season in 2007 lasted through November, and stalled due to water restrictions related to the severe drought conditions in Cullman. Our team size doubled in 2008, only to stall again in November due to pool issues. Now, in 2011, we have access to the best facility in the state at the Cullman Wellness and Aquatic Center and anticipate BIG progress as a team. Leading the way will be Head Coach Carson Glasscock with assistants Glenn Pilcher, Jackie Donaldson, Alison Norris, John Hilb, Ellen Klinger and Lisa Martin.
